Omakase & Sushi Near Murray Hill, NYC

Atto Sushi — A Short Trip North on 3rd Avenue, 875 3rd Ave Lower Level

Murray Hill is one of Manhattan's most livable neighborhoods — residential, relatively quiet, well-positioned between Midtown and Gramercy. But when it comes to omakase, you have to head a few blocks north. Atto Sushi sits at 875 3rd Avenue in Midtown East, which means Murray Hill residents are closer to a serious dry-aged omakase counter than most of Manhattan realizes. Walk ten to fifteen minutes up 3rd Avenue, or jump on the 6 train for two stops, and you're there.

A Short Trip from Murray Hill for Omakase

There's a difference between a restaurant that offers an "omakase option" and one that was built around omakase from the ground up. Atto is the latter. The entire experience is structured as a chef-driven progression: you sit at the counter, the chef works in front of you, and each piece is handed to you directly — never plated and left on a shelf. Select fish are aged in-house, the rice is seasoned with red vinegar, and the sequence of the meal follows the logic of traditional Edomae sushi, not a prix-fixe approximation of it.

For Murray Hill residents used to walking past sushi restaurants that offer omakase as an afterthought, Atto is the real thing. It's the kind of counter you'd travel further for — but you don't have to.

A Great Date Night from Murray Hill

Omakase suits a date night. The counter seats are intimate, the pacing is unhurried, and the chef's progression gives the meal a natural narrative arc. It works for a first date, an anniversary, or any occasion that calls for something genuinely special.

The Dinner Omakase is 17 courses at $115 per person — 2 appetizers, 12 pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and dessert. Sake by the glass and bottle is available; see the full menu for current selections.
